There are three types of bucket teeth process. They are sand casting, forging casting and precision casting. Sand casting has lowest cost and the quality of the bucket teeth is worse than others. Forging casting although has high cost but the quality is best. Precision casting has very strict requirements to the raw material and technology level is relatively high. Due to mixed ingredients, some bucket teeth made by precision casting has high quality and abrasion resistance, even better than the bucket teeth which processed by forging casting.

Failure Analysis On The Bucket Teeth
The working face of the bucket tooth contact with the material to be excavated. In a complete mining process, different stages of their work has different force conditions. When the tooth tip contact with the material surface, the tooth tip is shocked strongly because of the quick speed. If the bucket tooth is low-intensity, it will be plastic deformation in the tip. With the increased digging depth, bucket teeth force will change. When bucket teeth is cutting materials , teeth and materials move relatively, it will produce large positive squeeze pressure. So it will produce larger friction between tooth face and materials. If the material is hard rock blocks or concrete, the friction will be large. The front face is significantly greater than the pressure on the after face. According to the front face is worn seriously, we can know the main external mechanical factors of tooth failure is positive pressure and friction, and it play an important role in the process of generating failure.
We take two specimens from before and after working face and polish them, then take hardness test. We find there is large difference hardness on the same specimen, and preliminary judgment is inhomogeneous materials. After the specimen is ground, polished, corrosion, you will find obvious boundary on each specimen, only difference is the boundary position.
From the macro perspective,the surrounding is light gray but the central is dark. So it may be inlay casting. Look from the surface, the surrounding should also be insert block. We found that the difference is obvious after taking hardness test on both sides of the border with HRS-150 digital Rockwell hardness tester and MHV-2000digital micro hardness tester. Through above analysis, it indicates that bucket teeth are inlaid caking. The closed portion is insert and the surrounding is matrix. Both ingredients are closed. Mechanical properties of metallic materials depend on the material composition and heat treatment process. The composition is similar and the hardness is different, so the bucket teeth put into use without heat treatment. Observation of tissue is also proved this point.
